A former senior CCIM Institute instructor, she has also served in key faculty and committee roles with the National Association of Realtors®.


Sharon Carz, CCIM, of West Hollywood, California, is a commercial real estate professional specializing in multifamily, NNN, and senior housing developments. Earning her CCIM Designation in 2012, she has served as Chapter President twice, Region 2 RVP, and as a member of The CCIM Institute Board of Directors. A graduate of the 2015 Jay W. Levine Leadership Academy, Sharon is A passionate advocate for women in commercial real estate.


Mary Dee Karp, CCIM, of Walnut Creek, California, was the President and Founder of Mary Dee Karp & Associates. She earned the CCIM Designation in 1972 and was a strong supporter of The CCIM Institute Foundation. In addition to being generous with her time and expertise, Mary Dee is the only Foundation patron to have multiple named education scholarships with five in her honor. Prior to her passing in 2014, she was an Honorary Member of The CCIM Institute Foundation’s Board of Directors.

James Darr, CCIM, of San Diego, California, was involved with commercial real estate for 50 years until his passing in 2015. He was instrumental in establishing the San Diego CCIM Chapter, as well as the Commercial Investment Real Estate Association (CIREA) which was the predecessor to The CCIM Institute. Over the years, he provided valuable support to the San Diego CCIM Chapter and was a life member of both the Chapter and The CCIM Institute.


Gene Trowbridge, Esq., CCIM, is a California-licensed attorney specializing in syndication of commercial and investment real estate. He has been a CCIM Designee since 1977 and a former faculty member. Gene has served three times as the President of the Greater Southern California CCIM Chapter.
