During the CCIM Institute 2015 Spring Business Meetings held March 22-25 in Chicago, the Foundation raised almost $8,000 with a raffle and announced six new Named Endowed Scholarships! See winners and scholarships here.


Michael Tseng Michael Tseng, CCIM was recently honored with an endowed scholarship through CCIM Foundation. CCIM President Mark Macek, CCIM, presented the awarded to Mr. Tseng on behalf of the foundation at a Taiwan CCIM forum which drew 900 participants. The endowed scholarship was created to recognize Mr. Tseng for his ongoing contributions to the commercial real estate industry, the Taiwan CCIM Chapter, and CCIM Institute. Mr. Tseng is the Executive Chairman of REPro Knight Frank in Taipei, Taiwan, and has over 20 years of experience in real estate. He founded his company with a vision of raising the commercial real estate services standard in Taiwan to international levels, and assisting investors to explore opportunities in Taiwan’s commercial real estate market.

Mr. Tseng was the first professional in Taiwan to earn the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, the founding President of the Chapter, and graduate of the Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy – Class of 2006.


Jim Rosen, CCIM, of Chesterfield, Missouri and Chad Thomas Hagwood of Birmingham, Alabama were both recently honored with endowed scholarships in their respective names through the CCIM Foundation. Rosen was recognized for his ongoing contributions to commercial real estate education and the betterment of the industry, the St. Louis CCIM Chapter and the CCIM Institute. Hagwood was also recognized for his contributions to the commercial real estate industry as well as to the Alabama CCIM Chapter. Mary Dee KarpThe directors and staff of the CCIM Foundation mourn the loss of Mary Dee Karp, CCIM, who passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2014. Robin Webb, CCIM, President, said, “Mary Dee was a terrific lady with a great heart for both the CCIM Institute and the CCIM Foundation who will certainly be missed”.

Ms. Karp was a long-time board member and champion of the CCIM Foundation who was honored with lifetime membership to the board in 2012. Ms. Karp was very involved with the foundation’s scholarship programs both at the national and chapter level. She was honored with her first named endowed scholarship in 2004, and was subsequently honored with four additional scholarships in her name through the Northern California CCIM Chapter. (She is the only CCIM with more than one named endowed scholarship.)

Doug Sawyer, CCIM, Past President of the CCIM Foundation, shared that Mary Dee “always engaged in policy discussions out of concern and never for personal gains. No one loved or cared for CCIM more.”

CCIM Foundation held a raffle during the CCIM Institute 2014 Midyear Business Meetings in Nashville, raising net proceed of over $2,000. Thanks to the many people that purchased raffle tickets, and congratulations to the winners. See winners and prizes.
